Our Story
The journey of Mellis Welding Supplies began with our founder, Trevor Bennett, who started his career as a welder before moving into the welding equipment industry, where he gained valuable experience selling welding equipment and machinery.
With his knowledge of the trade and understanding of what customers needed, Trevor took the next step and launched his own business in 1981, establishing Mellis Welding Supplies.
From the beginning, Trevor’s focus was simple: provide customers with quality products, honest advice and a level of service they could rely on.

A New Generation Continues the Legacy
After many successful years of building the business, Trevor began passing the reins of Mellis Welding Supplies to his son, Matt.
Having spent years learning the trade and gaining valuable experience alongside Trevor, Matt has continued the family tradition and now leads the business, ensuring customers receive the same friendly and knowledgeable service that MWS has always been known for.
In 2021, Matt’s wife, Chantelle, joined the team and took over the administration and accounts side of the business, helping to strengthen the family involvement behind the scenes.
Today, Matt is the familiar face of Mellis Welding Supplies, working directly with customers and managing the day-to-day operations, while Trevor continues to provide support and guidance from his years of experience.
